With Easter holidays off the cards due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, Amsterdam platform HomeSuiteHome offered an alternative weekend vacation experience from the comfort (and social distance) of your own home.

HomeSuiteHome, by Zoku alumni Felix Burghardt and David Kijlstra, brought the hotel experience to private homes over the Easter weekend to offer some respite during times of social distancing. The staycation packages included online check-in, a “welcome package” including local products, an optional dinner from a local restaurant, an online concert by Shaggy Greys and stand-up comedy by Matt Castellvi, and breakfast from Petit Deli delivered to your door. The service even included a concierge service offered through WhatsApp who was available to cater to your needs and offer movie, virtual events and even sleeping ritual suggestions.

“We’ve created this concept to bring back positivity and proof that there is potential in everything. This project will hopefully not only help local businesses but also make people smile during these uncertain times”

The initiative plays with the idea of the hotel experience and staycations while offering entertainment to people social distancing and much-needed support to 14 local Dutch businesses, including The Very Good Candle Company, John Altmann, and The Good Roll.

While this was a one-off service over the Easter weekend, HomeSuiteHome plans to continue bringing hospitality innovations while socialising and travel is restricted. HomeSuiteHome paves the way for a potential new hospitality service with a full package of entertainment delivered to your home.
