Put Yourself on Airplane Mode With This Puffer Jacket

New York fashion brand The Arrivals has created a puffer jacket that blocks cellular and GPS signals on smartphones. The project aims at encouraging to switch off and "reconnect with the outdoors."

“We live in a time where we’re more connected to our devices than to the environments we inhabit,” says The Arrivals co-founder. When the company decided then to create products that would help the wearers to disconnect with the use of anti-conductive technology, it came across the Faraday Cage — a physical cage made of materials blocking all electromagnetic transmission in and out. Since its conception, the Faraday concept has been used in woven textiles, allowing The Arrivals to create the Aer off-the-grid Puffer.

The Arrivals has then introduced the next generation of their Aer puffer with a Faraday pocket that temporarily blocks cellular, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, radio-frequency identification (RFID), Near Field Communication (NFC), electromagnetic fields (EMR and EMF) and radiation signals to your devices.

In the times when we spent over three hours using our phones daily, a new trend is emerging with The Arrivals parka bringing the individuals back outdoors without distraction or connectivity.
