Rotterdam Stadium Becomes Campsite For The World Cup

A little less spectacular than this stadium in Berlin that was turned into a giant living room for the FIFA World Cup, but a neat idea nonetheless: last Friday car brand Opel transformed the pitch of one of Holland’s biggest stadiums into an orange campsite.

For some football fans the Dutch team’s remarkable (and stylish) 5-1 win over Spain got extra special, as 200 of them were invited to come and watch the game and spend the night in one of the 100 tents on the pitch of Rotterdam stadium De Kuip. Organized for the first time, the pop-up campsite was a marketing stunt of German car brand Opel, main sponsor of the stadium’s home team Feyenoord.
