Monocle Travel Guide Series: Vienna
The latest travel guide from global affairs brand, Monocle, spotlights on the Austrian capital of Vienna. As always, Monocle has taken the time to thoughtfully highlight all of the gems the city has to offer, leaving us with wanderlust after just a few short pages.
Inside the guide lies something for everyone, whether you are looking for Vienna’s best cup of melange (coffee), or the best jogging route to start your day. The guide is classified into nine sections and not only focuses on standard departments such as accommodation, food, and retail, but also architecture and culture. Monocle worked with local photographers Daniel Gebhart de Koekkoek and Arnold Pöschl to fill the pages of their book with authentic and inspiring photographs. The widespread usage of photography makes this guide incredibly easy to flip through and find something worthy of further exploration at the point of a finger.
Unique to the guide is its feature on favorite walks within the city and suggestions for specific neighborhoods great for spending a day wandering. The back of the book also contains a nice resource section, featuring insider knowledge of the city spanning from a Vienna-centric playlist to weather-proof activities.
The 12th guide in the series is consistent with Monocle’s keen eye for quality and curation. Readers can expect this guide to be a wonderful resource for learning more about the capital city and all it has to offer.
