In a world of peer-to-peer communities we recently got a new member: Carry. “Carry is an online peer to peer marketplace that connects people who need to ship things with travelers who can carry packages for them.”
We’ve all be in this situation: packing to much and having to leave some of our precious stuff behind or wanting to send someone a package but opting out because of the high prices of delivery services like UPN and DHL. This new peer-to-peer service promises to save us the trouble and the money.
How does Carry work? Pretty much like every other peer-to-peer community. By creating an account on their web page you become a member of the Carry community, you can then post a request for something to be carried for you and the price you are wiling to pay for the service, or you can post about the travel you are making and people will contact you if the destination of their delivery matches your destination. By carrying, you will also earn some money and maybe have a mojito or 10 more at your holiday destination.
Worried this platform could be used by smugglers to transport illegal stuff? “If you are transporting an item you must inspect the item to insure that it is what you agreed transport. You must reject any item which you are unable to confirm to as legal and safe for transport. You may refuse to carry any item you feel uncomfortable carrying, ” is stateted on CARRY website.
So put your worries aside and ship away!
