A DIY Snow Bar In Boston
Boston has officially had its snowiest winter on record, getting 108.6 inches of snow. The #snowmageddon and its results have stimulated many urbanites to come up with creative urban interventions, ranging from a commuter tunnel for cyclists in the snow to a DIY neighborhood snow bar.
Texas-born Chris Haynes and his wife Kristy Nardone came up with the idea to serve delicious Moscow Mules at their DIY Snow Bar, that warms you from inside. Educated as an architect, Haynes got inspired by Quebec’s Ice Hotel and started to carve a streetside bar out of the snow piles in front of his house. With its countertop, back area and cubbyholes, bluetooth speakers and solar-powered lights it truly is a Snow Bar showpiece!
