Most people collect so much stuff during their life that they get trapped in their own possession. The more stuff you have, the bigger your house has to be, the higher your mortgage and the more stuck you get to your job, marriage and living place. Having stuff means abandoning the possibility of change. That might be one of the reasons so many people get depressed and fall into a quarterlife and/or a midlife crisis. They simply own too much and therefore lack a healthy opportunity of freedom.
I often imagine it would be great to just have a notebook, a folding table, a bed and a chair. That’s all one needs for working and sleeping, within a complete free and flexible lifestyle. Well, after watching the movie below about a ‘room in a box’ there might be one more thing to have: the Casulo!
A whole interior in a 120 by 90 centimeters box, that’s what Casulo provides. Casulo was initiated in June 2007 as a part of the dissertation of Marcel Krings and Sebastian Mühlhäuser at the Köln International School of Design. They have patented their idea. In only six minutes a whole interior setting can be set up using every single peace in the box, without any tools. Of course you need some basic knowledge about the product and you might need some exercising. But then you’ve got all the furniture you need: an armoire, a desk with a container, a height adjustable stool, two more stools, a shelf and a bed with mattress. And, so I hope, packing it is as simple as setting it up. Always ready to move your ass and find some adventure.
