With the use of personal wristbands, guests can easily access hotel amenities, including the freedom to pour their own beer at the hotel bar. Guests can also utilize the CityHub app to guide them throughout the city and are able to share their experiences in real-time, inviting others to discover as well. Mobile routers make it easy for guests to take their Wi-Fi to-go.
All sleeping units, known as Hubs, feature a king-sized bed, adjustable mood lighting, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth music connection, all of which can be personalized using the app. Communal spaces provide an environment for travelers to meet one another and plan their itinerary.
CityHub also recognizes that their guests, which consist mainly of travel-savvy millennials, seek out authentic local experiences when exploring a new city. A selection of expert CityHosts provide guests with recommendations for local experiences and events that tourists otherwise may not have known of. They are often found socializing with guests in the lobby and can be reached 24/7 through the app.
Expansion plans for CityHub are already in the works. The hotel is expected to open its doors in Paris, Copenhagen, London and Lisbon within the next three years and intend to grow worldwide. It’s interesting to see how the travel industry is adopting automated technology strategies, such as self-guided tours and autonomous vehicles to provide more authentic city experiences for tourists.
