The Most Beautiful Starbucks In The World
Starbucks currently has 19,435 stores spread across 58 countries. According to their website, Starbucks is looking for ways to improve the environmental performances of their stores. The coffee shop brand doesn’t only follow LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certifications standards, some of its new outlets really look good, including this new shop near the Dazaifu Tenmangu Temple in Fukuoka, Japan.
Kengo Kuma and Associates, the architects of this Starbucks shop, used some 2,000 square ‘sticks’ that are weaved together diagonally. The architects state that the last thing they wanted was the shop to be yet another dull Starbucks location, so they did their best to let the structure and its interior blend into its historical environment. “The café is supposed to feel as though it is nestled in a tree making the customer be at one with nature”, says Sonia Angus. “The use of these blocks add a sustainable value to the building as the blocks can be recycled or the building can be dismantled and rebuilt in another location.”
