Flexible Wayfinding for Neighbourhoods in Transition
Amsterdam's Amstel III is evolving from a monotone office district into a vibrant mixed-use neighbourhood. To guide residents and visitors through this transformation, we developed a modular wayfinding system that highlights the area's new energy and opportunities.
Signposts That Evolve With the Neighbourhood
At 12 key locations, colourful and flexible signposts point the way to new restaurants, shops, cultural attractions, hidden gems, and upcoming parks. The system is designed to adapt as the neighbourhood continues to change, reflecting its dynamic character.
A Map to Welcome and Inspire New Residents
To complement the signposts, we created an area map featuring 71 highlights. This map is distributed to new residents as a welcoming introduction to their evolving neighbourhood. The project, developed in collaboration with Studio Bureau, transforms the streetscape into an invitation to explore, discover, and connect with the Amstel III of today — and tomorrow.
