Tiny Notes To Cheer Up Citizens On The Way

London-based artist Michael Picerno‘s Notes for Anyone project aims to cheer up urbanites with colorful, optimistic messages on poles, lamp posts and billboards.

The average American sees some 5,000 ads on a daily basis. ‘Notes for Anyone’ wants to break into that endless stream of commercial communication with a series of thought-provoking messages that let people reflect on their own lives in a positive way. The project was recently picked up by the Billboard Art Project, a non-profit organization that transforms road-side billboard ad spaces into artworks.

‘Notes for Anyone’ reminds of the highly successful ‘You Are Beautiful’ project by Chicago-based artist and designer Matthew Hoffman, who distributed small stickers with the text “You Are Beautiful”.
