Dining On Rails
Dining has become more mobile ever since the emergence of pop-up restaurants and food trucks. Railpromo takes the mobile culinary experience to another level: dining in a moving historic train where dinner is served by a Michelin-star chef.
Last summer, a historic train from the 1960s was converted into the Panorama Rail Restaurant. Departing from Amsterdam, the train takes you on a tour through the characteristic landscapes of the Green Heart in the western part of the Netherlands. The tour takes about three hours and brings you to Haarlem, The Hague, Rotterdam and Breukelen.
The train seats up to 78 diners distributed over two carriages, including a panorama cabin. In 1962, the TEE trains were extended with a dome-car to offer travelers a panoramic view on the Rhine-Alp region, departing from Hoek van Holland. As of today, only three remained working, which reveals the unique ambiance of this panoramic train journey. On top of that, the tour includes a four-course dinner by a Michelin star chef. Book your table for upcoming summer if you want to indulge yourself in a luxurious dinner on the go!
