‘Walking Men 99′ is a site-specific Public Art Installation, surrounding the site of the upcoming Four Seasons Hotel in NYC’s Downtown area. It features a photographic collage of 99 pedestrian traffic light icons collected from around the world. The installation will remain on display for one year, starting January 16th, 2010 through January 15th, 2011. According to the New York Times the project is part of a series of installations around several construction sites in Lower Manhattan. The projects are being paid for with a $1.5 million grant from the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation. The work is created by Jerusalem-born and New York-based artist Maya Barkai.
