The Flying Grass Carpet Goes Sky High

Flying Grass Carpet at the Schouwburgplein, Rotterdam
Last summer we reported about the Flying Grass Carpet, the huge pop-up landscape entirely made of artificial grass. The project of our friends, Rotterdam-based architecture and design office HUNK-design and artist IDEddy has been travelling the world since. The size of the Flying Grass Carpet, which can be altered from 18 by 22 meters to 32 by 58 meters, is a urban intervention with the purpose to temporarily reorganise public spaces. We’re very happy to add another chapter to the story as Flying Grass Carpet is one of the nominees for the Dutch Design Award! This means you guys can support them by voting online. Last year the Flying Grass Carpet popped up in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Berlin, Budapest and Aachen.
