Out Now: The CityChangers Cookbook
We created a little book with 20 simple yet powerful ideas that can be implemented in almost any city in the world.
Want citizens to bike more? Give them a bicycle. The Slovak city of Trnava launched a bicycle subscription, which allows residents to get a bicycle for just €30 a year.
In many Dutch cities, city dwellers can have paving stones in front of their houses removed by the government and replaced with garden soil. They are then allowed to plant their own mini-gardens, turning streets into green oases.
These are just two simple ideas that could also make an impact in many other cities around the world. In collaboration with Urban Future and the Pop-Up City community, we collected 20 such “urban recipes” in a booklet, The CityChangers Cookbook. By learning from successful projects in cities around the world, we aim to inspire and empower citizens, urban designers, policymakers and others to try out recipes in their own cities. After all, why always reinvent the wheel?
Curious about all the urban recipes? The booklet is now available as a download (€8) and in a print version (€10). Get The CityChangers Cookbook here.
Have a great summer!
