Nao Tesuki Washi

Virtual Tour to Nao Tesuki Washi on 16 December

During the Kyushu Crafts Club exhibition, we’re organising a number of exclusive virtual tours to Japan. On Wednesday 16 December, we’re visiting the workshop of washi-maker Nao Tesuki in Saga.

On Wednesday 16 December, the last day of the exhibition, we’re visiting the workshop of Nao Tesuki Washi in Saga. Enter the wondrous world of washi, a material demonstrating that paper can be so much more than simply something to write on. At Nao Tesuki Washi, the craft of washi making has been passed down through seven generations. During the virtual tour you’ll see live how washi is made and meet crafsman Gen Taniguchi in person.
