Living Life Vertically

Tiago Primo and his brother Gabriel have slept, worked and eaten on the side of a building in old center of Rio de Janeiro all summer long, from May till August. “The brothers were equipped with mountain climbing gear, and if nature calls, can scramble over to the verandah of a neighboring art gallery, where an indoor bathroom awaits”, as written here. Both guys have lived vertically for twelve hours each day at a height of 33 feet (10 meters). This piece of performance art took place on the wall of the ‘A Gentil Carioca’ gallery in Rio. I just read this about this Brazilian project on the People and Place blog, and I find it absolutely amazing. How would it be to live while challenging the rules of gravity? It must be tough and completely exhausting, but as the project’s name says: It’s done “in the name of art”.
