Go Cloud

Interesting stuff is going on in the world of operating systems. Especially in the world of ‘cloud computing’, which stands for running software on the Internet instead of on a computer (like Google Docs or Basecamp).

Good OS, a company well-known for the Ubuntu-based gOS Linux distribution, has announced its new OS called ‘Cloud’. Cloud is a light-weight instant operating system which provides a browser-like working space and enables the browser to perform everything that the desktop is able to perform. Since Cloud just boots into a web browser, it’s perfect for netbooks, mobile Internet devices, and PCs for pure Internet use.

In their press release was written: “Cloud uniquely integrates a web browser with a compressed Linux operating system kernel for immediate access to Internet, integration of browser and rich client applications, and full control of the computer from inside the browser.” Cloud will be freely available. Coming soon!
