Finnish Summer Greenhouse

Once again, Finland offers us a fabulous way to become one with nature. Last month we wrote an article about the Igloo Hotel in Kakslauttanen, in which guests could enjoy the northern lights and stars of the crystal clear sky from their comfortable room through the thermal glass capsules. Helsinki-based architect Ville Hara and designer Linda Bergroth of Hel Yes! created another way to wake up in nature. They combined a garden shed with a green house and created something very unique. In warmer seasons the prefab garden shed can be transformed into a private bedroom by adding a wooden floor, a bed and solar panels.

“It is a unique prefabricated garden shed that combines a green house with storage space and comes in ready made elements that can be assembled by simply using a screwdriver. The Garden Shed is made from Finnish pine and safety glass and equipped with automatic openers to control the temperature inside.”

Although this great concept involves a place to sleep, it’s not a hotel concept yet. For now, this Garden Shed is just a beautiful prototype. Check out Dezeen for more delightful pictures of the concept.
