Free entrance! With the Big PechaKucha for Japan Lottery!
On Wednesday 27 April we are organizing a special PechaKucha Night Amsterdam devoted to supporting Japan. This ‘on the road’ edition will be hosted at the Smart Urban Stage, a pop-up theater traveling through Europe (click here for the address). We have selected a bunch of great presenters who can hardly wait to share their work, ideas and inspiration with you in 20 slides of 20 seconds. Entrance is free! Click here to attend on Facebook and to invite friends and colleagues to the event. To support the victims of the earthquake in Japan, this edition will be part of the international PechaKucha Inspire Japan initiative. We will be raising money with a special PechaKucha lottery during this evening. Participants can win great design and art prizes donated by former PechaKucha presenters, companies and other creatives!
Presenters are Rodger Beekman (60 Layers of Cake), Jos de Krieger (2012 Architects), Luis Mendo (GOOD Inc.), Theun Karelse (Boskoi), Sandra van Egmond, Melle van den Berg (De Speld), Arnout Visser, and Linda Braber (LimiTee). Lottery tickets will be sold during the event. We’ve already received a large number of great prizes from Sonos, Nalden, Bjarke Ingels (BIG), Hanazuki, Sue Doeksen, DUS Architects, WeTransfer, Partizan Publik, Mwah, Luis Mendo (GOOD Inc.), Woolfiller, Pierre Derks, Smart, Boondoggle and more… Here’s a small selection:
As a happy crossbreed between an elevator pitch and speed dating, PechaKucha Night will present eight brilliant people who will be sharing their work and ideas in 20 slides of 20 seconds. Breaks will be filled with drinks, funky tunes and visuals by our lovely Merel Das aka Blackbird Badger. We will astound you with fabulously inspiring presenters, great music to dance to and so many interesting people in one space at one time, you’ll wish you had more time to speak to all of them!
Doors open at 20:00, PechaKucha starts at 21:00. The Smart Urban Stage is located at Europaplein 22, Amsterdam (public transport: subway lines 50/51 to subway/train station RAI, tram 4). Entrance is free! Follow us on Facebook and Twitter, and click here to invite your friends to the event.
