We all know Augmented Reality (AR) is the next big thing. Enhanced by the iPhone’s 3.0 OS and the iPhone 3GS, AR startups, such as Layar and Tonchidot, pop up like mushrooms these days. British developer Acrossair came up with another great iPhone application that superimposes graphics and information on live camera feeds, called Nearest Tube.
Nearest Tube superimposes directions to the nearest underground stops over the iPhone 3GS’ live video feed. Acrossair recently introduced its subway app also in New York and San Francisco under the name of Nearest Subway, and promises tobring the app to other large cities. The video below demonstrates the smoothness and ease of this piece of software.
