Small Deposit Donations In Urban Space With Pfandring

Our German colleagues of Urban Shit featured this great urban intervention that will help the city to get cleaner. Paul Ketz’s Pfandring is a ring-shaped installation that’s attached to street bins. His urban hacking initiative offers people who drink a beer with their friends on the street the opportunity to leave the deposit bottle in the ring, instead of throwing it in the bin, or even worse, on the street. Others, who want to make a little extra money, can easily take the bottles and return them at the shop. A pretty clever and simple idea altogether that should be implemented for real.

First, Pfandring provides a service to people who like to enjoy a beer in public space. Second, it prevents the city from broken glass on the streets, which is particularly annoying for bicycle riders. Third, it enables small deposit donations.
