1,000 Posts On Pop-Up City

Dear readers,

This is Pop-Up City’s 1,000th post. We made it, baby! When we started blogging in the Spring of 2008 during a short trip to Berlin, we couldn’t imagine that this blog would grow into a rich source of new ideas, trends and designs that shape the city of the future. We hope you enjoyed it so far. It took us a while to actually get read by people — the first ones arrived when Chad Smith featured Pop-Up City and our Amsterdam-based creative agency Golfstromen in an article on Yanko Design in December 2008. (Thanks a lot, Chad!) From that moment our number of visitors exploded and we’d be happy to welcome more readers in the future.

We would like to thank a number of people and organizations who have supported us. Love to all people who have contributed to Pop-Up City over the last years. Thank you, Ajantriks, Alexandra, Anna, Athina, Brendan, Daniel, David, Francesco, Jesse, Joëlle, Marta, Mike, Milla, Nathan, Samara, Samo and Sindy. Love to our sponsors, the Netherlands Architecture Fund, Hewlett Packard and Media Temple.

We’re happy to announce a new website created in collaboration with Christian Borstlap. We’re also happy to announce an upcoming media partnership with this year’s International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR). Furthermore, we will be bringing you the latest updates and inside stories from the Philips Livable Cities program. Stay tuned.

Love,

Joop and Jeroen
